  • According to the present invention there is provided a floor cleaning device for swiping and cleaning a floor and facilitating in collecting the swiped dirt for disposal. The floor swiping device having a floor swiping member and a collecting member. The floor swiping member facilitating in swiping the floor and gathering dirt at a location. The collecting member detachably secured to the floor swiping member. Therefore, the floor is cleaned by the floor swiping member with the collecting member secured thereto, the collecting member is detached for collecting the dirt gathered by the floor swiping member for disposing it off. Further, the floor swiping member includes a handle portion and a swiping portion extending from the handle portion. The swiping portion may be bristles, cloth, mop, sponge and the like. The collecting member includes a handle portion and a collecting pan portion extending from the handle portion. Further, the collecting pan portion has extending side edges for increasing the space for collecting larger volume of dirt and also preventing the dirt from spilling from the collecting pan portion. 1. The handle portion of the floor swiping member is debatably secured to the handle portion of the colleting pan portion. Specifically, the handle collecting member is hollow and adapted to receive and secured the handle portion of the floor swiping member. In an embodiment, the handle portion of the collecting member includes plurality of grooves and the handle portion of the floor swiping member includes plurality of projections that slide and lock with the grooves to provide a press fit arrangement therebetween. In another embodiment, the handle portion of the collecting member includes a first member and a second member hinged at one and determined connected at other end by a locking mechanism. The locking mechanism includes an extruding member extend from an open side of the second member. The locking arrangement also includes extending member with a slot configured on an open side of the first member. The extruding member engages with the slot for locking the first member with the second member. Also, the handle portion of the collecting member includes a holding arrangement for hanging the floor cleaning device.

Abstract

The present invention provides a floor cleaning device for swiping and cleaning a floor and facilitating in collecting the swiped dirt for disposal. The floor swiping device having a floor swiping member and a collecting member. The floor swiping member facilitating in swiping the floor and gathering dirt at a location. The collecting member detachably secured to the floor swiping member. Therefore, the floor is cleaned by the floor swiping member with the collecting member secured thereto, the collecting member is detached for collecting the dirt gathered by the floor swiping member for disposing it off.
